Nutrition & Fluids
When a resident isn't eating enough good food to meet his/her daily nutritional and fluid needs the problem needs to be addressed promptly. Residents who are malnourished are considered twice as likely to develop pressure sores and have skin breakdown problems.
If the resident isn?t getting enough fluids, they can get dehydrated. When a resident is dehydrated, it is much easier to get a pressure sore.
